Anthony James (born July 22, 1942) is a retired American actor. He specialized in creepy, sleazy villains in films and television, many of them Westerns. His first major role was as Ralph, the diner counterman, in the 1967 classic Oscar-winning movie In the Heat of the Night, which co-starred Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger. His last film role to date has been in Clint Eastwood's 1992 Oscar-winning western, Unforgiven which starred Clint Eastwood.
Sent him 2 photos from In The Heat Of The Night on 16 Jan and got them both back signed on 17 Feb. Also sent a note "Thank you for your kind words. It is my pleasure to sign your photos. I wish you, above all else, prosperity of the heart."

Wrote to Anthony James the end of Oct and got Return to Sender the other day with his addressed crossed out.. was not done by the post office.. This is the address I used:
