One Hit Wonder Collection: Carl Douglas email success x 2 - 10 de agosto de 2011 I started last week a new collection: One Hit Wonders. A one-hit wonder is a person or act known mainly for only a single success. The term is most often used to describe music performers with only one hit single. In 2006, Channel 4's established "50 Greatest One Hit Wonders" of all time. On the first place is "Kung Fu Fighting", a well known success of Carl Douglas.
Carl Douglas (born 10 May 1942) is a former Jamaican-born, UK-based, singer, best known for his song "Kung Fu Fighting", which hit number one in both the UK Singles Chart and the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1974. The R.I.A.A. awarded gold disc status on 27 November, and it won a Grammy Award for Best Selling Single in 1974. It eventually went on to sell eleven million records worldwide, making it one of the best-selling singles of all time.
So I started with the number one: I sent an email of request to Mr Douglas. Today I received a very kind letter and 2 signed photos, after only 5 days
