MINK STOLE (STAR OF HAIRSPRAY, FEMALE TROUBLE) - SUCCESS!! - 04 de noviembre de 2015 Mink Stole is one of the friends of underground cult filmmaker John Waters, who's early work was responsible for various trash fests such as Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble and Desperate Living.
Before John hit the big time the only people he could get to appear in any of his films for no fees, were his friends (Divine, Mink Stole, David Lochary etc).
Mink starred in most of his work. One of my favorites being Female Trouble (1974). Mink (aged 29) plays Dawn Davenports deranged 14 year old daughter, Taffy. Single mother, Dawn (played by Divine) has taken to a life of crime to support herself but refuses to spend any money on her daughter and so Taffy is forced to wear the same clothes from when she was 6 to her current age of 14. Dawn also keeps her permanently locked in the apartment, never allowing her out or to have any friends. And so Taffy becomes this intolerable, attention seeking brat.

Many of John Water 'followers' have long since succumbed to drug overdoses, AIDS etc and as 69 year old Mink is one of the few surviving original members, I had to have her autograph.
Taken from her official website minkstole.com in exchange for 20 U.S Dollars I received the below 8"x10" photo inscribed with one of her lines that Taffy yells as she opens the front door to her step father.

The website stated $3.00 for postage and no extra costs for overseas mailing, causing me to think this would take a while to reach me. From the envelope you can see she's paid the extra postage, but still I was surprised at such a fast delivery from the U.S to the UK!
Love this success. Mink is a real character.
