Frank Emond Pearl Harbor Survivor - 01 de March de 2021
Francis âFrankâ Emond joined the US Navy in 1938, leaving his home in Rhode Island to serve as a musician. His life was changed when, in the summer of 1941, a change in assignment stationed him aboard the USS Pennsylvania at the time of the attack. Frank was aboard the battleship USS Pennsylvania on December 7, 1941, witnessing the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. As the band played morning colors, Frank saw the first bomb drop and explode at a hangar on Ford Island.

Armando Galella Pearl Harbor Survivor. Hickam Field - 02 de January de 2021
Battalion Sergeant Major Armando ââ¬ÅChickââ¬Â Galella was born in 1921 and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1940. After training, he was assigned to the 443rd Signal Corps at Hickam Air Force Base and is a survivor of the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
SGM Galella went on to serve five years in the Pacific. He received the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service and bravery in the Battle of Okinawa, ââ¬Åthe largest amphibious invasion of the Pacific campaign and the last major campaign of the Pacific War.ââ¬Â

He had someone look me up and they found my phone number and he called me.. We had a very nice conversation for about 20 mins.. He is 99. He insisted that I called him Chick...
